Head Of school
Mrs Sharon Sanz
I began my journey into daycare 14 years ago. When I couldn’t locate a good childcare facility for my daughter, I was in a difficult situation since the two people I trusted the most were leaving the state. I began considering how I could stay at home and teach my child what she knows now. Everything started when I was given the idea to open an in-home daycare; at the time, I had no idea that I had a love for children or a talent for teaching, but I firmly believe that when adversity strikes, it polishes you like a diamond. I discovered who I truly was. And my second child received a full Montessori education as well, and I felt fortunate to be able to raise both of them at home and watch them both develop and thrive with the other children, we were a huge big happy family.
I was immediately drawn to Maria Montessori’s ideas, methodology and philosophy and what impressed me the most is the level of concentration and independent work displayed by the children. Then I met a wonderful couple who introduced me to the fascinating world of Montessori. They invited me to visit their lovely school, and I was astounded by the independence and focus of each young child there. They were clearly having a great time, just as Maria Montessori once said: “The child who concentrates is immensely happy.” and I continued noticing that throughout the whole class. In 2018, I earned my Montessori certification with AMS and my National Director’s accreditation after making a significant sacrifice. My passions among many are children and content families. My objective has always been to create a home away from home for the children, where they feel safe and loved. They have called us a hidden treasure and a hidden gem in Round Rock and surrounding areas, and we will continue to pursue that. My hobbies are to serve the Lord with all my heart, with him nothing of this would have been possible, go for long walks, travel when possible, spend time with my husband, younger daughter and my fur baby.
One of my favorite Maria’s Montessori quote is “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed”

Pre Primary Lead Teacher
Mrs Karla Garcia
Hi there, my name is Ms. Karla! I have always had a passion for helping and taking care of children, which is why I discovered Montessori right after I graduated high school in 2012. The Montessori method/philosophy immediately captured my heart, and I knew that being a Montessori teacher was my calling. I had the opportunity to work at a traditional daycare after my husband and I relocated, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that it wasn’t the right fit for me. So, I decided to go back to a Montessori school. In 2015, I became a first-time mom and I was determined to continue my Montessori career as I also wanted my daughter to be in the Montessori environment. I found Discover New Horizons Montessori in 2022, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Currently, I hold the pre primary lead guide position, and I feel fulfilled every day knowing that I am making a difference in these young children’s lives. Additionally, I consider myself lucky to have my own children attend DNH. It’s a wonderful environment that fosters growth and learning in a fun, safe, and supportive way. I am proud to have had the privilege of working with children of such a young age range ( 6 weeks – 6 years). My experience has included various roles, from assistant guide to Lead guide, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of what is required of the children to be able to progress smoothly. Witnessing the children’s growth and development into independent individuals brings me great joy, and knowing that I had a positive impact on their lives fills me with happiness.
I love to spend my free time with my family. My husband and I have been married for 11 years now, and we have two wonderful children, an 8 yr old girl and a boy who is 4 years old. We love going on walks together and watching movies. It’s always a great way for us to bond and create memories as a family. One of my favorite Maria Montessori quotes is “ Free the child’s potential, and you will transform him into the world. “

Primary Lead teacher
Ms Orquidia Martinez
I’ve had a passion for children and teaching since I was six years old, and the opportunity to come to this wonderful country has been a blessing for me and my entire family. I met Ms Sharon, the owner and head of school, back in 2019 when I was working as a secretary in a sheet metal company, which had nothing to do with my passion for children. I saw she had posted that an assistant was needed for her in-home daycare and I leaped for joy at the thought of working with children. I went back and quickly presented my resignation notice, explaining to my manager that working with children had always been my passion and goal. I was overjoyed since my dream was about to come true. After beginning my journey, I obtained my AMS certification in Plano, Texas, from one of the top Montessori accreditations.
My love for children is unmatched; when children come to me and say, “I love you,” it melts my heart because they are being genuine. I am a member of the praise and worship team as well as the church dance team. It brings me great joy to see the children achieve developmental goals in all areas. Seeing the purity of their hearts in different situations taught me so much! Because of all the daily occurrences, I get to laugh a lot, and being at their service is the best part of all. One of my favorite Maria Montessori quotes is “Do not tell them how to do it. Show them how to do it and do not say a word. If you tell them, they will watch your lips move. If you show them, they will want to do it themselves”

Infant Lead Teacher
Mrs Angelica Centeno
My experience began three years ago, when I met Mrs Sharon at her in-home daycare. I’ve always liked children, but my profession at the time had nothing to do with them. I was excited when she offered me a part-time job with her. It was something I truly wanted to accomplish, and I’ve loved teaching and spending time with kids ever since. I’ve been using the Montessori Method for two years and am currently pursuing my Infant/Toddler certification. I’m enjoying learning more about children and setting the environment for them to explore, discover, and become independent. I have two amazing children, ages 23 and 17. My hobbies and interests include taking walks on the beach, singing, spending as much time as possible with my family, and learning new things every day. I admire Maria Montessori’s discovery that their finest learning occurs through their senses and hands-on involvement within their environment. Children’s minds are like sponges, absorbing up everything they come into contact with. One of my favorite observations from Maria Montessori is “ that children’s best learning takes place through their senses and through their physical activity within their environment. She noticed that the young child’s mind is like a sponge, soaking up all aspects of the environment.”
Pre primary Assistant
Ms Samantha Coronel
My name is Samantha Coronel, but I go by Ms. Sammy. I’ve been with DNH for a year and hope to stay for an extended period. Teaching has always been one of my greatest passions, but I was never sure how I planned to follow my dream. Fortunately, I was introduced to the Montessori Method and Philosophy, and I am currently pursuing my Infant/Toddler Certificate. One of the main reasons the Montessori method influenced me was witnessing toddlers as young as 18 months capable of completing a task on their own. Despite the fact that I don’t have any children, I treat my students as if they were my own. In addition, witnessing children hit new milestones as they progress fills my heart with joy. The majority of my free time is spent at church with my family. Serving in the children’s and Danza ministries. When I have the opportunity, I also enjoy going for walks, seeing new places, and trying to grow myself. One of my favorite Maria Montessori quotes is “The child gradually moves from the unconscious to the conscious, always treading in the paths of joy and love.” –
Infant Assistant
Mrs Viridian Trejo
Mrs Sharon offered me the opportunity to work and be a part of her lovely school, and I immediately accepted. I’ve been working in childcare for two years. Since I was a child, I’ve had a strong desire to work with children. My desire has always been to teach with love, care, and security; seeing the children’s abilities, independence, and potential brings me great satisfaction. As a mother and educator, I have realized that childhood is the most essential stage in life when we must show our children love, kindness, and joy. I am thankful to God and delighted to be a part of the Montessori approach. I am the mother of three amazing children. There are two lovely girls and one handsome boy. Spending time with my family is one of my passions. I enjoy going out to eat and spending time outside with my family. One of Maria’s Montessori quotes is “If help and salvation are to come, they can only come from the children, for the children are the makers of men.”
Spanish Teacher/ floater
Ana Cano
My mother, who was a preschool teacher, inspired me to pursue a career in education when I was a teenager. I was lucky to be able to help her whenever she required it. In 1998, I began my career as an educator in San Juan de Bosco, Durango, Mexico, where I taught PreK while also attending school. When my husband and I moved to Texas in 2006, I started babysitting for a period of time. However, in 2013, I discovered Montessori and became completely fascinated by it. I started working with Mrs Sharon back in the in-home daycare, I was her first assistant and since then we have stayed together as friends and work peers. We teach Montessori in an entirely distinct manner than I was used to. I like how the students are given the flexibility to choose their own work (following the child) while still being regulated. It’s incredible to watch them grow and learn.
In April 2022, I joined Discover New Horizon, as the Spanish teacher and having the opportunity to teach small group Spanish lessons made me so happy. Seeing the children develop and succeed has been quite satisfying. Knowing that I contributed to their achievement makes me incredibly proud.

Infant assistant
Mrs Alba Cabrera
Colombia is where I was born and raised before making the move to Texas two years ago. I was seeking employment until a friend told Mrs. Sharon about me. Since then, I have been working with her to establish her Montessori preschool. One of the best things about working with kids is that you can always count on them to demonstrate their love for you in some way throughout the course of the day. They keep your spirits high and full of energy, last but not least, they inspire you to practice patience every day. My favorite activities are reading, going on walks, listening to music, and taking in the surroundings. Researching subjects related to philosophy and medicine is one of my hobbies. I am the mother of 2 lovely daughters and 5 grandchildren. One of my favorite Maria Montessori quotes is “ Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.”
Floater
Mrs Karina Galvan
My journey began when I was 24 years old and had the joy of becoming a mother to four lovely children, which took away my motherly instinct. It taught me a lot of patience and responsibility. Having such grace affected my life in ways that still amaze me. I’m still developing as a person, and I want to set a positive example for my children. I’ve seen how love spreads and never divides. When my older children started school, I began caring for them and assisting parents when they were away. I started working part-time at Discover New Horizons Montessori a year and three months ago and have been overcome with happiness and sharing my experience with my coworkers and the children. I began taking online courses and preparing myself with better tools about a year ago. I have two healthy daughters and two sons with golden hearts. I love helping others and making my career acceptable to God. Plants are my favorite thing; I care for them and enjoy their beauty, shine, calm, and harmony in return. I view pure love and happiness when I see the children smile. Working with children flies by so quickly, and it is a privilege to do so. One of my favorite quotes is “ The land is where our roots are, the children must be taught to feel and love in harmony with the earth”
